still on the search for good food in the area between my work and Joe’s, we decided to try El Potrillo Cafe. It’s a really small place, that shares a parking lot with a car wash. But they make a great milanesa torta and the people there are really nice. Feels like a real homemade foods restaurant…CASH ONLY.

We’ve found the wonder of grinding our own meat for burgers. bacon burgers with homemade onion rings…and homemade ranch dip. super americana and really, just good

chedder and brie grilled cheese with fresh homemade beer batter onion rings

not much to say on this one – bacon wrapped shrimp with orzo rice

cut 200g pork belly into 1/2-1″ squares

cook pork down and remove grease. add 11g katsuo (bonito)

add 1 T sake, 3T + 2t sugar, and 250-275g aka miso

boil together until miso is formed

pomegranate martinis = delicious dangerous drinks

made with fresh pomegranate juice from the farmers market and stolichnaya elit vodka and a splash of soda. SO MUCH YUM!! tangy, sweet, with a tiny tickle of bubble. mmm…i might have to make a stop so i can have one tonight

corn, steak, shrimp, boiler onions, and potatoes all hot of the grill

another, lets take something out of the freezer meals. joe loves chicken and rice. really. LOVES IT. and we still had some of my bbq sauce so lets go ahead and bake some bbq chicken.  mmmmmmm. really, something so simple can really be so good!!
