Nexus One – Android 2.2

Posted in Technology on May 17th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

I’m so frickin excited for my Nexus One – patience is a good thing.  I’ve been holding out on buying it for a few reasons

1 – i never like to buy version 1 of anything – there are always things that have been overlooked and need re-working and many times these things can’t be discovered until the masses get a hold of it

2 – lack of sale in brick and mortor – i know – i shouldn’t fear buying on the internet, especially from Google. but i am. luckily they have figured out that i’m not the only one that wants to touch it before buying – woohoo – coming soon, Nexus One in stores.

3 – UPDATE – w00t!!! Android 2.2 (Froyo) faster, better, stronger

Nexus One- part II

Posted in Technology, thumba on January 11th, 2010 by admin – 1 Comment

by now everyone’s seen all that there is on this new Android released by Google – i mean, first day out there was a link to purchase straight on google’s homepage (and yes, i’m still super excited but am holding out to buy until atleast a month after release.  I’m all about the reviews and not being the first to get, and be disappointed) complete with all the specs and a 360 degree viewing. LOVE IT! I know i know, it’s hard to see how it really will perform from a spec page. (ps., here’s the iphone spec page too for all of  you comparison shoppers). And we all know how the “specs” lie – i mean, just from personal experience, I know that the iPhone does not last the 5-9 hours on the internet that they claim.  So i can’t fall into believing that the Nexas One is all that they claim also with regular usage.  But still, oh little phone – how i want you.

once again, i’m practicing patience.

heh – this post reminded me of the Simpsons episode mypods and broomsticks  – i tried to link to the simpson website episode summary – but alas, there’s something askew in springfield and it wasn’t loading properly.  But if you haven’t seen it go! now! really, you know you can find it somewhere.

Nexus One

Posted in Technology on December 21st, 2009 by admin – 1 Comment

why oh why am i having such a hard time finding a side by side pic of the nexus one next to an iphone. come on party people – how is it possible that people have taken pictures of them and not thought they needed to post some comparison shots up. “said to be thinner than the iphone”…i wanna see it with my own two eyes.
Redmondpie.com posted a nice comparison chart – lacking in specifics, but an easy to understand organization of the info out there without having to read through the hundreds of random posts with a tid of data here, and a tad of data there. thanks redmondpie!!

i think i finally found my new phone

Posted in Technology, thumba on December 17th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

after what seems like forever searching the phone market for a phone that i want, i think the answer is finally emerging. i’ve had a love of my phones in the past, but somehow, they all end up falling short in the end.

i’m currently using a 1st generation iPhone – my boyfriends old phone that’s been unlocked and jailbroken. but its got some bugs..acts a little wonky on me sometimes (yesterday, for unknown reasons, the loading screen appeared and the phone didnt function for a whole 15 minutes. i know – 15 minutes – in the course of a lifetime what is 15 minutes. in the course of cell connection to the world…it seems like an eternity. not to mention the unknown variable of if its gonna function again…will i be out a phone? do i have to resort to using an old phone until i buy a new one…and now that i know what i want, i’d have to wait till January)

but i think i may see my shiney cell phone cloud silver lining. the Google phone – ie – Nexus one

yes, i know, she’s the talk of the town right now. but all the talk is good. and htc has yet to do me wrong.

Lisa – Apple

Posted in Technology on November 18th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

its been a while, but i figured i’d get back into the the blogging world with another post in narcissism -

Lisa – Apple PC
This project started in 1978 (blasted…one year off from my birthyear…we’re like the same, but different).

Sure, she was slow and costly ($9995, Lisa 2 $3495-$5495). Boxy and large. And, yes, she turned out to be a total failure amongst most consumers, but she was one the the first..ya gotta give the girl credit.

what does “@” mean

Posted in Technology, thumba on August 7th, 2009 by admin – 1 Comment

so my phone (nokia 5310 xpressmusic) mysteriously turns itself off the other night. So naturally, i turn it back on. Now it has an “@” icon at the top of the screen where my notification icons normally rest…what could this possibly mean? I tried looking it up and it is such a difficult issue to find actual results for. so now, i’m stuck in a perpetual state of @
